Week Eight.
I’m sharing something a little bit different this week — still from my stacks, piles, and shelves, but this time the book I pulled is a Torah commentary. My hope is that a few words of Torah might offer some inspiration for our current moment and common experience. Click on the photo or link below, and you’ll let me know: If it works, how it works, and if it’s worth doing again.
Resources:
- The book itself: The Mussar Torah Commentary: A Spiritual Path to Living a Meaningful and Ethical Life,ed. Rabbi Barry H. Block (New York, NY:CCAR Press, 2020).
- Mishkan T’filah is available for free as an online Flipbook. The excerpted passages of the Holiness Code found in Parashat Kedoshim are on page 149 (p. 249 in the prayer book itself, if you have a hard copy at home).
- For a short text study on each of 48 middot, check out this URJ resource.
- I also love this Periodic Table of what it takes to make a mensch, based on the middot.
